Prozessbasierte Hochwasserabschätzung für mesoskalige Einzugsgebiete

Grundlagen und Interpretationshilfe zum Verfahren PREVAH-regHQ

In this report, the results of such a new process-oriented procedure are presented. The procedure is called PREVAH-regHQ and has been developed at the Institute of Geography, University of Bern (GIUB) on behalf of the Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN) and is based on three steps: First, the tuneable parameters of the hydrological modelling system PREVAH are estimated using a regionalisation procedure; with this step, application of the model to ungauged basins is made possible. Second, these estimated (regionalised) parameter sets are used for simulation a continuous hydrograph of a minimum duration of 20 years at hourly resolution. Third, the simulated hydrograph is analysed by means of conventional extreme value statistics which finally leads to flood estimation for an ungauged catchment.
